The business grew by mass-producing affordable jewelry during the Depression, which the founders achieved by teaching local artisans modern techniques and using materials like nickel silver. During WWII, the company pivoted to manufacturing military insignia. It expanded significantly after the war, and in 1971, it reorganized as Sunbell, which eventually closed in 1981.
