Circa 19th Century. Likely of French origin.
This exquisite antique night service bottle, also known as a “bonne nuit” bottle, is crafted from luxurious white opaline glass.
It features a bulbous body adorned with a striking hand-painted Greco-Roman profile in a black cartouche medallion, surrounded by a classical border of rich terracotta red, gold, and black flourishes. The tall neck is topped with its original matching stopper, which echoes the warm terracotta and gold tones of the base and pedestal foot.
These pieces were traditionally used to hold water or spirits at the bedside for nighttime use, combining both elegance and practicality.
Measures approximately 9.25 inches tall (including stopper). Base has a diameter of approximately 2.6 inches.
Stopper and bottom of bottle are both marked "32".
In good condition with no major flaws. Neck of stopper has a chip, though not seen when in bottle. Please see all photos.
