HISTORY: The Whitall Tatum Company or Whitall Tatum (1806–1938) was one of the first glass factories in the United States and was based out of Millville, New Jersey. Whitall Tatum produced bottles, jars, and vials throughout much of the 19th century. Antique bottle collectors prize the Whitall Tatum druggist, perfume, chemical, reagent bottles, and other types of bottles.
AGE/DATING: The absence of the ampersand in the logo dates this mark after 1901. Various styles of graduated beakers were offered in the 1880 catalog, but were absent from the 1892 catalog. The graduated beakers were absent again in the 1902 catalog, apart from one goblet-shaped beaker. To have these marks, beakers must have been reintroduced in the early 1900s, but before 1937, in which they were absent again.
