Very interesting and rare Art Deco portrait in a leather wrapped case. Portrait is hand painted on a slab of glass, and signed “Dennis ‘30”.
Brass frame has a convex glass cover and is affixed with a decorative hook at the top that latches securely into leather case. The back of the frame is velvet and has an easel back. Frame fits perfectly into case. On the inside of the case, one side has a maroon velvet, and the other side has a slightly less darker maroon satin.
Case securely opens and closes with a push button, similar to old jewelry boxes.
MEASUREMENTS: When closed, case measures approximately 5.5 inches long by 4 inches wide, and has a depth of 1 inch. When open, case measures approximately 11.25 inches long. Frame measures approximately 3.5 inches long by 2.7 inches wide (not including hook at the top).
In good condition for its age. Please note that there is a lot of wear to the outside of the case, leather easily chips off, and all pieces should be handled with care. Please see all photos.
