HISTORY: Jaroslav Ježek was a Czech industrial designer. He was one of the founders of the Brussels style, an important development in Czech design in 1950s and 60s. His original and unmistakable style is known as "Brussels style", because at the 1958 Expo in Brussels, Jaroslav Ježek received two very prestigious awards: the gold medal for porcelain sculpture and the Grand Prix for the porcelain coffee service. His Brussels style represented Czechoslovak design on a global scale. He designed a series of porcelain stylized modernist animals.
