
Modernist vintage sterling silver brooch, in silver tone & gold tone, in a modernist swoop design.
Circa 1980s. Taxco, Mexico. Back of brooch is stamped “TN-72” and “MEX925”.
Circa 1979, the eagle system was put to rest and replaced by a new letter/number mark to indicate the silversmith and guarantee sterling standard. The “T” represents Taxco, and the “N” represents the first initial of the silversmith. The number indicates that the maker is the 72nd smith, with a name beginning with N, register a mark in their city's assay office.
Brooch measures approximately 3.25 inches long by 1.6 inches wide.
Weighs approximately 15.16 grams.
In good condition with no noticeable flaws. May have some minor patina as expected with age & wear, but can be polished if you desire. Please see all photos.
