This figure represents a dog, the most commonly portrayed animal in the art of Colima. Dogs were believed to assist the dead in their journey to the Underworld. During the sixteenth century, the dog was also a central figure in the myths of creation, according to sources which themselves referred to Colima’s ancient inhabitants.

Measures approximately 5.75 inches long by 3.1 inches wide, and has a height of approximately 3.25 inches.
