Castlecliff, a jewelry company founded in 1918, produced costume jewelry in NYC from the 1940s to the 1970s. Known for their high-quality pieces, they were especially recognized in the 1950s under William Markle, who designed bold, sculptural, and colorful jewelry. Castlecliff was acquired by Carnegie Industries Co. in the late 1970s and later by Lucien Piccard Industries in 1980. The brand has recently been revived, with a focus on sustainable, handcrafted jewelry in NYC.
